Brooding clouds and rain make the backdrop for this oil painting. I wanted to capture an image of Arabian horses as they react to a storm, their apprehension and vigilance as the winds move in, and the tension as their environment begins to change. I also wanted the horse’s coats to be shimmering in the sun, shining on the edge of the storm, enhancing the rich, warm colors.
